Coach of the Month: Bruce Babashan
He’s been a coach for the Amateur Boxing Team at Champion Boxing & Fitness since we opened back in November 2011 – that’s six years of amazing training! Bruce is from Washington, D.C. and began boxing at a boys club when he was young and then continued with it through college.
Coach Bruce is a certified level II USA Boxing coach. He is on the Board of Directors for the USIBA (The United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association) and former head coach of the Georgetown University Boxing team. Being a coach, he said, means “living with a higher purpose. I get to invest in others’ success.” He helps people succeed through “old school” training and hard work.
- If Bruce could vacation anywhere in the world, he would go to either Japan or Las Vegas.
- His favorite local spot in Rockville, MD is Woodbine Grille.
- The most common advice he gives to members of Champion: “Be patient.”
